The chicken because just like God created Adam & Eve so they could reproduce, God created the rooster and chicken so they could reproduce.

The chicken. Newborn chicks "imprint" on the first moving thing they see so if the egg hatched with no chicken in sight, the chick would have thought it was a duck or hawk or any other thing around it. (There are documents about chicks that think they're dogs or cats.) It would have had a pretty short lifespan because as a duck it would have drowned and the hawk would have eaten it. I say a chicken was first and taught the newborn how to be chickens.
