I am switching my tanks around so that my 55 gallon will be a divided breeding/ maternity tank, and would like to keep a couple catfish in there to help with the cleaning. If not are there any catfish that I would be able to keep with the babies? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Cory cats are very peaceful fish that do not bother fry of any size and are very good fish to keep in fry tanks. I have 5 albino cories in my guppy tank and my guppies drop fry in there all the time without my cories bothering them in the least. I've even had baby shrimp in there and the cories don't mess with them either. Plecos should be the same. My albino bristlenose plecos have never bothered my guppy fry or shrimplets either. It's nice to have them with the fry as you tend to feed fry a lot and they're handy for keeping the bottom clean of all the excess food.

Generally speaking no. Neither of these types of fish are known to be a problem in a tank with babies. Now that's not to say there aren't occasionally bad boys in the bunch that will eat the babies, but that would be really rare.

Personally, I would stick to corys for your situation, they will do a great job of cleaning up excess food.

Ouch! do away with the goldfish, they do no longer mixture with tropicals. do no longer think of of the catfish as scavengers, nevertheless that's what number human beings look at them. Feed them nutrients which will sink to the backside, frozen or freeze dried meals could be large. a great nutrients for the pleco, and the catfish, could be properly rinsed canned sliced green beans. those 4 fish are a lot for a 6 gallon tank.
