Is it fair to ask which position is most important in football?

Question

You need a QB to throw the ball.

You need an O-Line to protect the QB and hike the ball

You need recievers for the QB to throw too

And you need a defense to stop the offense.

As we all know, there's no "I" in "team".

anyone who really understands football knows that there are two answers to this question. if the team has a right-handed QB, then the most important position is left tackle. if the team has a left-handed QB, then it would be the right tackle. Good protection of the QB's blind spot equals a comfortable QB, then the stability will trickle down everywhere else. If you don't believe me, then go back to the Houston Texan's first draft. The very first person drafted was Tony Boselli, a left tackle.

Football is a team sport, so every position is important. However, in my humble opinion, the most important position would be QB. They plan the play, call the play, and even if the play doesn't come off exactly as planned, the guy can hopefully improvise well enough to get a few yards.

The most important position is OL, however there is 5 of them. If you have a couple of weaknesses in the OL but a couple of superstars on the weak side you can still have a very good offensive line. I would have to say the most important indivdual position is QB. A QB can't single-handily win a game but he can single-handily lose a game. You don't have to have the most talented QB to be a great team but you do have to have a smart one.

It's a fair question, the most common answer is of course the Quarterback, it's what you generally build your team around, or at least your offense. A quarterback seems like the one position that can decide whether you win or lose a game most often.
