Start by writing your Congressman and getting everyone you know to do the same. You could send an email to everyone you know about it, and tell all of them to send emails to everyone THEY know. Use the Internet to your advantage. Be very specific in the email. In fact, type up the message you want people to send to their Congressmen, so they can simply copy/paste the message. Also, send links to websites for all Congressmen so the recipients won't have to look very hard for them.

I thought the law treated everyone the same no matter what the age. Rape is rape .............. period. No matter what age no one can do this to another.

You make is sound like it is legal right now for minors to rape.

There may already be some laws in the books for this crime. I guess that you feel that the law is insufficient and want to place more punishment to the crime. Requesting this from your state representative and senator is a start.

There are laws already in effect.

It also includes date rape and unlawful sex with a minor.

You sound upset, did something happen to you are someone close to you??

Talk to an adult, hopefully your mother or father and tell them what is going on.

Good Luck

Contact your state legislator requesting that they bring it up at the next meeting, having a petition to present to him would also help.
