When I first started out with AOL, I had dial-up connection and paid by the hour. It was $19.95 for 3 hours. I also had to pay for the long distance call to a city about 60 miles away for the connection (about $6.00/hr. I only used it in eve. so I didn't have to pay daytime rates.) Then when I got in, I had to drain about 10 minutes of SPAM before I could get to my mail. I would sit there sputtering, "I am paying for this crap." Now I have unlimited hi-speed broadband.
