He can't get over the fact that moved on from him and am now with someone else, he has just sent private intimate pictures of me to him and his and my friends to get me back? Please what can I do????

I live in Ontario Canada. I know his ip, how do I report him for violating his internet terms of service (he uses Rogers Yahoo Internet). What civil and what criminal avenues do I have?

I just need him to stop and leave me alone so I can get on with my life. :'( I was in an abusive realtionship for years with him...and he won't let me forget about it. Unfortunately this email he forwarded to me and his friends is the only proof of harassment I have. He's really good at covering his tracks. :(

Very new legislation in BC makes it an offence to disseminate libellous material over the internet. For example, if I were to send a friend an email saying Jack was stealing from his boss and he wasn't, that would be libellous. If my friend then forwarded the same email on to you, my friend could be charged with disseminating libellous material as well. (Anyone who forwards libellous material can be charged.) I imagine there's similar legislation in Ontario.

However, if the statement were TRUE, no one can be convicted of anything. So ... since the photos are a true representation of you, I don't think you have a case regarding libel. However, since they were used without your permission, you probably do have a case. The emails are your case.

The question is: How much money and effort do you want to expend to teach this guy a lesson? I presume he hasn't got a lot of money, so your costs, if you sue him in a civil court, probably won't be covered, and it would just stir up more interest in the photos. If you could get the province to prosecute (unlikely), then your costs would be next to nil.

But since you have told your family (?) and friends, you have nothing to hide any more, and the aggravation & heartache might be more than you want to bear. Sorry I couldn't give you a definitive answer.

The e-mail, if you still have it, is PLENTY of proof that he is harassing you. Go to your parents first and see what they say; they may assist you with the process of getting a no-contact order and then reporting him to his internet provider.

In the meantime, add his e-mail address to your "blocked" list. This way, any e-mails he attempts to send to you will be blocked and you will never have to see them.

Good luck!!!! :)
