Fighting the terrorists or letting them continue to attack us?

How about changing our foreign policy of militarized forced economic globalization and then we wouldn't have 'terrorists'!!

Why do we keep creating more of them?

I couldn't answer your question on your terms since it was worded on a bias.

No one wants people attacking us or any other country.
I think the situation going on in Iraq is more of a civil war situation than a terrorist situation.
I want to believe that under the same circumstances of an invasion of the U.S. our citizens would fight back instead of just being taken over!

A false choice. Nobody has ever suggested letting them attack us. The point is not to 'fight' terrorists, the point is to defeat terrorism. Driving 70 ton tanks up and down the rapidly deteriorating roads of Iraq isn't going to defeat anything. Getting entirely out of the middle east and not importing any oil from there would go a long way toward stabilizing this situation. Concentrated covert action against 'Terror Inc.' would have an end point as this continued occupation of Iraq and the untenable situation in Afghanistan does not. The current policies isn't designed to win. The Bush Junta may believe it is, but believing you're not wrong isn't the same as being right. The war was won three weeks after it started....the occupation will never be won. We may land up having some egg on our face behind giviing up on this occupation, but better that then this continued attempt to fool the American people that we're 'winning' when we're not. Let's try to be real!

Who's going to say "let them continue to attack us?" Nobody of course. I would like to see us truly fight the terrorists. That would involve the cessation of policing a civil war in Baghdad and putting our military to better use seeking out and destroying the new cells that Al Queda has fostered all over the area. Not to mention the fact that we have to deal with the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Anyone really paying attention knows we have to maintain a presence in Iraq, we have created a situation that requires we stay and deal with it. The question is how? Obviously, focusing on Baghdad has not done the trick. Small bands of Al Queda devil us and the population in Baghdad to keep us there while they grow in leaps and bounds in other areas. Our presence in Baghdad has not put a collar on Al Queda, it has caused a growth in their numbers and given a lift to their recruitment.

While we play whack-a-mole - getting one area under to control only to see trouble pop up in another area - Al Queda continues to grow, expand, and get stronger. Obviously, what we are doing is not working as far as squashing terrorism. We need a new outlook and a new plan - and we'll never get that from Bush or any Republican who might succeed him to the Oval Office. I think this country is more than ready to find out how the Democrats can handle it since it's obvious the Republicans cannot.

I'd like your bike.

And I'd like to give their countries back to them.

That would help put a serious dent in this thousand year war we're in.

At the current rate, taking the insurgents killed daily along with terrorists, then extrapolating that out to the estimated number of terrorists, it is conceivable, at this current state of affairs, we'll be at this war for a thousand years.

Smoke that for a while.

In the mean time, I'll take your bike.

Peace

Jim

no terrorists have attacked us on our homeland since 9-11. and there are even questions about if 9-11 was not prevented on purpose by the government. the terrorists are not "continuing" i mean wtf more ppl died in Iraq and Afghanistan than in 9-11 and what did we prove? that we are a bully. lets get the hell out of the middle east we have no use in there, and all we are doing is creating more hatred there. how would you like it if another country just came in America like they pwned the place
