I think, that we could even lose one more and still make it to the Rose Bowl. Although I don't want to test that theory.
One thing that most people do not understand is that Appalachian State is not a cupcake team. They have won two national championships in a row in the lower division. This is not to say that they should have beat us, but they are about the level as some of the medium good Big Ten teams.
I like Loyd, although I think that he might have gotten caught up in the hype and not stressed how good Appalachian State was to the players and thus in turn they came out asleep.
However in the end it was the players fault, not Loyd's that we lost, 2 blocked field goals (one to win it), and like two or three failed two point conversions because of fumbles or slipping. A crucial interception thrown by Henne, the fumble by Minor.
The thing I hated most was the fans leaving early, the Big House has always been hyped as the toughest and loudest stadium. I think that they need to restrict the sale of tickets only to those under the age of 25 or so (just kidding, well sorta) because we stay for the whole game, and don't leave early just to avoid traffic.
Now however we will see the true Michigan fans, all the fair weather fans will be picked out and I know for a fact that I will be at next weeks game again.

Any team, and I mean any team, can lose a big game at any time. (And I am thinking of UT.) I am not laughing and I am not really a fan. It is sad that the chance for the national championship is a goner. But the season "ain't over til it's over" which I think is a quote from Yogi Berra. And I agree - Carr is not doing something right! Time to go?

As you can probably tell from my user name I'm not a Michigan fan but I am not laughing. Either most people don't know or don't want to admit Appl. State has a great football program. Only one person mentioned they are the two time defending division 1aa national champs. I think Michigan will still win the Big 10.. ..

I'm laughing pretty hard at michigan right now. What I dont get is how they are sitll number 5 in the national polls.
My team is BYU here in Provo, Utah. If BYU was ranked 5th in the country, and they lost 1 game, to an unranked team, they would fall clear out of the polls. We get no respect in Provo.
Another good team that is not getting the respect they deserve is Oregon. Dont look past the ducks. Oregon had USC'S number last year, they can be dangerous. I'm predicting oregon to beat michigan.
Also, watch out ucla, the most under rated team in the country is comming to L.A. this saturday.

If Michigan defeats Oregon and Penn State in the next several weeks, they have a shot (Notre Dame's terrible, let's face it, they don't even have a QB).
It's not Michigan's offense. Mike Hart, Mario Manningham and Chad Henne are still there, they're still playing. But the special teams coach and the defensive coach need to get their asses kicked. I know Michigan lost a lot of defensive starters last year (I miss Woodley!) but there's no excuse.
They still have a shot. They're not completely out of it yet.

Well I sure had a smile on my face.. Well your loss did nothing to instill fear in your rivals in the Big 10. Wisconsin and Ohio State have a little less to fear, whether you rally from the pathetic loss or not.. They will study tape of how to exploit your defense, App State must have had a crystal ball...
Keep up the "Wolverine" mantra of always having a excuse of why you lost...

Who isn't laughing at Michigan?
Frankly, your defense is a joke. Blame Llllllloyd all you want, but their front seven is going to get manhandled a number of times this year. Shame they aren't in the SEC, because I could see at least 6 SEC teams that would tear them a new ******.

Lloyd will probably retire at the end of this season. I agree that we got the wake up call early.......glad it was now and not at the end of the season.

Getting the Rose Bowl will be no prize. Just think back to last January 1st. Total humiliation.
