I want a belly button ring but i have a few questions...like how much does it hurt??? could u plz like tell me how like for example it hurts as much as getting a getting a flu shot... also how do they do it like do they use the thing they pierce ur ears with or is it something else??? Thanks for your help!!!! :)

Getting anything pierced is going to hurt... depending on your pain tolerance, will depend on how much it will hurt. The piercing itself is very quick (this also depends on how thick or not your skin is). The person will use a long needle and put a cork on one end. They will clamp the skin and then stick the needle through followed by the bar/ring. It does hurt more than a flu shot, but it is very quick. I got mine 6 years ago, and from what I can remember it was painful, but quick. After it was just sore. You'll also have to clean it for about 6 months and it could take up to a year for it to completely completely heal. If you want it done, I'd say do it. It's quick and if you want it bad enough, then you can handle it.

It depends on how tight your skin is. Mine really hurt cos the guy who did it said my skin was too tight and couldn't get the thing through the first time and gave it a second go. Ouch.
It's worse than a flu shot. Maybe 5-10X worse. The thing about pain though is that if you expect the very worst, it won't end up feeling that way when it actually happens and will seem less painful. Can't really remember what the gadget looked like now.
I did start getting weird images in my head though after I had my belly pierced. I had images of people, many in horrible accidents actually. They were like a snapshot image of all these people I've never met before or situations I've never been in before. It was quite bizarre.
A reiki masseuse later told me something about the tummy being the core/seat of one's soul yadda yadda (can't remember what she said exactly) but that having something metalic there is like an antenna attracting lots of different energies, if you believe in that sorta stuff.
These images have stopped now after I took the jeweller out. I get the occassional ones sometimes. The hole does eventually close up or gets smaller. Sadly, mine's almost gone. I took it out cos I grew out of it. It was a phase.

If your so worried about how much it hurts don't get it done. It's kind of silly to want to know the amount of pain one indures with a pierceing. Just imagin. A needle bigger than the kind for your ears being pushed through the skin above your belly button.People do it everyday. That's part of why it's sexy, because it hurt's.

I am sure it hurts and when your like 80 and u take it out you are going to have a hole in your stomach and if you still have it when your old you will look really weird with a belly button ring

I really want one too and i asked like the same question...everybody who awnsered mine said that it would only hurt for like 5 sec. then it was over! They never described it as shot like. But all they said was to close oyur eyes and it will done before you know it and it doesnt hurt that long. Im getting mine done in January!

my Gf had hers done an she said it hurt about as bad as having her ears done, took about 5 secs an it was done yes they use a gun like the one for your ears
