Lloyd Carr won't be fired, at least not until the end of the season.

How I think Michigan's season will play out:

App. St. - L 34-32 (0-1, 0-0)
Oregon - W 24-17 (1-1, 0-0)
Notre Dame - W 31-14 (2-1, 0-0)
Penn State - W 24-21 (3-1, 1-0)
At Northwestern - W 38-10 (4-1, 2-0)
Eastern Michigan - W 27-7 (5-1, 2-0)
Purdue - W 17-3 (6-1, 3-0)
At Illinois - W 31-24 (7-1, 4-0)
Minnesota - W 42-20 (8-1, 5-0)
At Michigan State - W 23-21 (9-1, 6-0)
At Wisconsin - W 31-28 OT (10-1, 7-0)
Ohio State - L 31-27 (10-2, 7-1) (This one could go UM's way, though)

Carr's teams usually rebound well, except after losing to Ohio State.

I think, that we could even lose one more and still make it to the Rose Bowl, and win the Big Ten. Although I don't want to test that theory. As I see it, we will win out, and OSU and Wisconsin will lose at least one more game other than the one they play against us. Also, although it is a very outside shot (I will admit) there is still the off chance that if we get going that we could be considered for the Championship, although I may be a little too optimistic.

One thing that most people do not understand is that Appalachian State is not a cupcake team. They have won two national championships in a row in the lower division. This is not to say that they should have beat us, but they are about the level as some of the medium good Big Ten teams.

I like Loyd, although I think that he might have gotten caught up in the hype and not stressed how good Appalachian State was to the players and thus in turn they came out asleep.

However in the end it was the players fault, not Loyd's that we lost, 2 blocked field goals (one to win it), and like two or three failed two point conversions because of fumbles or slipping. A crucial interception thrown by Henne, the fumble by Minor.

The thing I hated most was the fans leaving early, the Big House has always been hyped as the toughest and loudest stadium. I think that they need to restrict the sale of tickets only to those under the age of 25 or so (just kidding, well sorta) because we stay for the whole game, and don't leave early just to avoid traffic.

Now however we will see the true Michigan fans, all the fair weather fans will be picked out and I know for a fact that I will be at next weeks game again.

The pressure has been on Lloyd Carr for a while now. The Appalachian State loss blew it wide open. If he doesn't win the Big Ten and blow out Ohio State by 50, he's gone. I'd say they're fortunate to have the game in Ann Arbor, but apparently that isn't as intimidating of a venue as it used to be...

Carr will quietly "retire" at the end of the year, but in reality will be forced out. Michigan will rebound, but may lose several more games. They are seriously lacking in the speed department, particularly on the defensive side. Lucky for them, the rest of the Big Ten is pretty slow as well, so they probably will fare pretty well in conference.

1st of all they have no chances for any bowl games unless they go undefeated b/c when they choose who plays the games they look at who the teams lost to after they find the best records. so they can only allow this to be their only loss b/c 2 losses & 1 being to AA team will not get them a bowl game. Their coach will still be good it's only 1 loss & it came after a block kick.

just because it was mich it makes big news (it will haunt them somewhat this year) but they gather themselves back and go from there not too sure about the head coaches comments after the game but a good staff at that level should turn them into being a top ten team

well if he can still pull off a decent season and by that I mean a 10 win season then he will get to keep the job but if he loses alot of games he might be on the chopping block
