A lot of canned items. My uncle was a lifer in the Army and once in awhile he would bring us a box. One had crackers, something called potted meat (whatever the heck that was), canned chocolate cake (? yeah it was awful) a small pack (2 pieces of chicklets gum). I really feel for the soldiers of the past. My son-in-law is now in the Army and says some of the MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) aren't half bad and actually resemble food.

Enjoy your day!

They were very horrible. I was in the navy stationed with the Marines (they have to borrow us hospital corpsman from the navy) and they seemed to push these things like they were going out of style. Actually, they were, MRE's were taking over. The C-rats had several different items in a small box. A small can which would have chocolate and rice bars or peanut butter. Another with crackers, then the main meal which could be anything from beans and franks to ham loaf. A bag with toilet paper that was 1/3 of what you needed to properly do a good job, salt pepper, cocoa powder, I can't remember too much else, it wasn't a good memory!
