Ok, well when I was little most all I listened to was pop. But now I like rock and alternative music and like pop/punk. But I also like people like the Jonas Brothers and Nickelback and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I hate rap and hip hop. So my question is: do you know any good bands/artists that you think I would like? I'm kind of in the changing my music likes and dislike stage right now, so I don't really know many bands and stuff.

Also, there's a podcast that has a lot of new and unheard of music. They put all sorts of international music on the show, so like you will have French music, international sounds, but also a lot of independent rock, and sometimes even classics like Cat Stevens.
Hip hop also does make an appearance on the above show, but the gist of it is "juicy music" so anything that sounds good put together in a way that will create an amazing mood for you. I've linked it in the Source...if you want to check it out.

Okay, so I'm a big punk/alternative fan myself... so here's the bands that I think are pretty good.
Paramore(if you're looking for boy bands, this isn't the one, but their music is awesome)

And I could list tons of others... but yeah. If you want to find out about bands and such, just check for like, local shows and stuff. Like Warped Tour is a big place to find bands. Also, if you become a part of a Street Team for a band, they'll let you know about upcoming bands and such, and then you'll know about them before anyone else. 'Tis quite cool.

i was your age when i made the switch too.
just DONT listen to nickleback, linkin park, jonas brother, red jump suit apparatus, fall out boy, panic at the disco, all american rejects or my chemical romance. that's a bad place to start.
DO listen to taking back sunday, the academy is, paramore, blur, nirvana, smashing pumpkins, sublime, northstar, jimmy eat world, saves the day, weezer.
