yA.....those "poems" by allalone are songs by Metallica...two of their better songs actually...but if you teacher needs an actual poem....here ya go:
Weep, weep within me, darling. There's release
In tears, in sorrow, in love that brings such pain.
You live inside of me, so rest in peace.
I know that like a sea you cannot cease
To crash against my heart, again, again.
Weep, weep within me, darling. There's release
From all the cruelty of your short lease,
The unimagined hell of the self-slain.
You live inside of me, so rest in peace.
I was cut off from you and could not piece
Together bows that lay beyond your rain.
Weep, weep within me, darling. There's release
In knowing that your love, like magic fleece,
Will warm me through the winters that remain.
You live inside of me, so rest in peace.
My love for you, dear mother, will increase
As more and more your will I will unchain.
Weep, weep within me, darling: there's release.
You live inside of me, so rest in peace.

Try "Annabell Lee" (I'm not sure how its spelled) by, I think Edgar Allen Poe. Again, I'm not sure, I have just heard the poem many times.
OK, I looked it up, its Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe. I like it, but its sad and its a love poem too.

Take a look at this. It's called "Do not stand by my grave and weep". It's a poem many people turn to after a bereavement. They find it very comforting - read it and you'll see why.
Plus, if you need to write about it, you'll find a lot of stuff about it online.

Harvester Of Sorrow
My life suffocates
Planting seeds of hate
I've loved, turned to hate
Trapped far beyond my fate
I give
You take
This life that I forsake
Been cheated of my youth
You turned this lie to truth
Anger
Misery
You'll suffer unto me
Harvester of sorrow
(Language of the mad)
Harvester of sorrow
Pure black looking clear
My work is done soon here
Try getting back to me
Get back which used to be
Drink up
Shoot in
Let the beatings begin
Your loss becomes my gain
Anger
Misery
You'll suffer unto me
Harvester of sorrow
(Language of the mad)
Harvester of sorrow
All have said their prayers
Invade their nightmares
See into my eyes
You'll find where murder lies
Infanticide
Harvester of sorrow
(Language of the mad)
Harvester of sorrow
(Language of the mad)
Harvester of sorrow
that 1 is about a man who beats and tortures his family till he goes crazy and kills them and then himself
One
I can't remember anything
can't tell if this is true or dream
deep down inside I feel to scream
this terrible silence stops me
now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
that there's not much left of me
nothing is real but pain now
hold my breath as I wish for death
oh please God, wake me
back in the womb it's much too real
in pumps life that I must feel
but can't look forward to reveal
look to the time when I'll live
fed through the tube that sticks in me
just like a wartime novelty
tied to machines that make me be
cut this life off from me
hold my breath as I wish for death
oh please God, wake me
now the world is gone I'm just one
oh God, help me hold my breath as I wish for death
darkness imprisoning me
all that I see
absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
trapped in myself
body my holding cell
landmine has taken my sight
taken my speech
taken my hearing
taken my arms
taken my legs
taken my soul
left me with life in hell
This song is about a soldier fighting in a war and a mortar blows off in his face. He can't hear, see, smell, taste and he doesn't have arms or legs. He comes out of a coma in a hospital. During the time he is in the hospital he reflects on his life and things his father told him. Eventually the doctors get worried because he's having spasms all the time, but he doesn't seem to be dying. They call in the general and he can't figure it out either but the soldier with the general recognizes it. "Its Morse code," he says. The general asks what he is saying and the soldier looks for a minute and then says, "He is saying K-I-L-L- M-E over and over again
Ride The Lightning
Guilty as charged
But damn it, it ain't right
There is someone else controlling me
Death in the air
Strapped in the electric chair
This can't be happening to me
Who made you God to say
"I'll take your life from you!"
chorus:
Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die
Burning in my brain
I can feel the flames
Wait for the sign
To flick the switch of death
It's the beginning of the end
Sweat, chilling cold
As I watch death unfold
Consciousness my only friend
My fingers grip with fear
What I am doing here?
chorus:
Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die
Burning in my brain
I can feel the flames
Someone help me
Oh please God help me
They are trying to take it all away
I don't want to die
Time moving slow
The minutes seem like hours
The final curtain call I see
How true is this?
Just get it over with
If this is true, just let it be
Wakened by the horrid scream
Freed from this frightening dream
chorus:
Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die
Burning in my brain
I can feel the flames
This is about someone convicted of murder and being sent to the electric chair, even though he didn't commit the crime. The lyrics are what is going through the person's mind The lyrics at the end, "Wakened by the horrid scream, freed from the frightening dream" imply that everything in the song was just a dream.
