How do I fix the pop-up headlights on my 1st generation (1990) Mitsubishi Eclipse?

The motors that operate the pop-up headlights on my Eclipse failed at the same time. This seems to be a common problem on the 1st gen Eclipses and I was wondering if anybody had information on how to fix this problem.

Two separate motors failing at the same time doesn't sound reasonable---sounds like some other electrical relay or switch is bad that controls them both or a bad common ground for them? Try running a power wire from the battery to each one directly to see if they work. Shop manual should have info as well---parts stores carry Chilton or Haynes or try Eautorepair.net for online access---small fee.
