pep talk in front of her 11 and 10 year old children? for loosing a book,my aunt thinks she doesnt deserve to get her book back should i find it. we think that her tirade was uncalled for and that she should say shes sorry and forget the whole thing.

How many wrongs do we want to perpetuate. You shouldn't have been negligent with someone elses property, she should not have read you out in front of others, and now you are considering on not returning her property because you were embarassed. You should make every effort to find her book, return it, apologize and not deal with her any more

Whether it was "highly humiliating" or not is neither here nor there. I would say, take the higher road here, Find the book, return it with a nice note inside the book stating that "you didn't approve of her actions and she was no role model for you, let alone her own children! State that you apologize for the late ness in getting the book returned to her, but you wish to have no future contact because of her actions in front of her own children" And leave it at that.

With that said, she should do some reflections back on her own immature actions and her part as a huge role model of her parenting skills, LOL, But by all means return her book or you could be sued for it!!!
