That we now understand what mercy is, and that we can actually put ourselves in the shoes of the other person, it has taken a heck of a long time. But.....as we can see, it is not exactly universally accepted by mankind...is it!!

The dictatorshipness of those in a position to offer mercy. There are only so many state governors and presidents in a country and you know what they are busy with half the time.

Indeed "modern man" has reached a critical point in traversing the "wrong path" facilitated by many factors, not least of which is the agenda of the so called "elites" and their programming and propaganda designed to keep us "peasants" disempowered, "in the dark", and fearful.

The consciousness level of the species, generally, is, by their design, and with the help of, believe it or not, their 4th dimension colleagues, quite "low". Thus, virtues of all types are not often in evidence.

Be it noted that "we" were originally intended to be far wiser, and kinder. The malicious intervention of the above noted "troglodytes" has had its intended effects, alas.

To explore this "approach" see http://www.montalk.net http://educate-yourself.org and http://www.davidicke.com and, for something quite unusual, start with this page and research the site, generally --very profound-- http://www.keylonticdictionary.org/Words/E/Eckasha.htm :)))

It because of a trait that conditions modern society just as much as pre-modern culture-- both realities are predicated upon an unwillingness to forgive and believe that compassion should be earned.

Why is 'mercy' a virtue? Mercy is giving unearned forgiveness. That certainly is not a virtue!! Shall we empty the jails? Forgive evil?

Humans are terrible selfish animals that will do anything to satisfy their needs.
Time and time again acts of mercy are paid back with betrayal.

Ask Jesus about that one.
