Lots of people are attracted to something that is diffrent from what they normaly see and hear every day. So a guy marries a woman because she is not like his friends.
Typicaly a person will not like another persons friends. You can't just tell someone, 'be friends'. And even if there were not diffrent view points and options and such....there will always be the matter of stealing time from each other.
