This was a loosely organized, semi-underground group, quite widespread throughout Germany, mainly consisting of 14-to-18 year old males. They evaded inclusion in the Hitler Jugend, and occasionally engaged in street battles against the HJ. They also aided deserters and draft-evaders in WW2. In 1944, Himmler ordered the Gestapo to go after them: as a result, at least thirteen were publicly hanged.

There were many, but the one you mentioned is the Eidelweiss Pirates.

the most knows was the catholic student mouvement "the White Rose", who was persecuted with trials, and was based in Bavaria. Marie Scholl and her brother were the most known martyr
