After seeing in the news that, yet again, Americans are dissing Canada's health care system, I felt I had to ask this, because I am sick and tired of hearing Americans complain about my country. What on earth do you all have against us?

I have NOTHING against your country. I don't like your healthcare system that's all.
My son and his wife just spent a week in Toronto and LOVED it. You have a wonderful country.

I love your health care system, and I have friends who are Canadian, so I don't have anything against you or your country. I think we need your health care system. It is the idiotic conservatives on here who run around screaming that they are going to make doctor visits mandatory if we go to UHC. I mostly ignore them because they are stupid. You will find a large population of them on the Politics section. I don't have anything against you. People who diss Canada suck! I love Canada, I have considered going to school up in Canada and I can speak French pretty fluently.

The only thing I really don't like about Canada is that Bonhomme de Neige thing you have running around Quebec's winter festival. He creeps me out a little.

Perhaps the 'bashing' reflects the unhappy fact that few Americans know very much at all about Canada, except that in winter there's snow. A happy fact is that some folks on this side of the border harbor great respect and affection for Canada, and I am one of them. If you are referring to comments made here, on this forum, keep in mind that more than a few of the chaps here are right-wing losers who rise in the morning hating and come the night go to bed hating--it is a disease, a sickness, and, in my opinion, shortens life. Ignore them, write them off. Be well up there in your beautiful country, be well and safe and forever happy.

Please excuse the ignorant among us Americans. It is quite unfair of them to determine the values of your country, esp. since most have never been there and really do not have a clue. They just parrot what they hear on extremist right wing propaganda. I live in Minnesota and have no problem with Canada. I canoe your lakes, but I do not involve myself in your government...I really haven't heard any Canadian complain too much, why should I complain for them? Remember, Canadians have friends in America.

The news reports the news. Not the truth. Remember that.

Plus I know that many of you Canadians place your nationality on being "not from the U.S.". It's time to embrace the differences between our countries, rather than have them be a point of discourse.

Canada is cool by me.

Don't pay any attention to that crap, people just use it as a false arguement since most Americans don't know anything about health care any way. I personally love Canada and would much rather be from there than America.

we're jealous of your 20 yard end zones. just kidding. i don't think it's just canadiens that americans don't like. in general, america is a very xenophobic nation. there is a dislike/distrust of almost all foreigners. maybe it's a legacy from pre-revolutionary days when american colonists were tired of being unfairly governed by a foreign monarch. but whatever the reason, believe me, canadiens are not the only ones in americans' firing line.

properly, i thought Canadians hated individuals... in basic terms like just about everybody else around the globe. the two are on the protection, by way of fact neither seems to love all different often.
