You also have to question why the bodyguard allowed a drunk driver to take the wheel of that car...surely if he was as drunk as is being made out it would have been as obvious as the nose on his face...I too think he is being made a scapegoat.

Given that Henri Paul was an employee of the Ritz Hotel and the Al Fayed family, Dodi undoubtedly presumed that he was fit to drive. I haven't asked the driver for a Breathalyzer test when hotel shuttles have picked me up at the airport. Dodi was inexperienced when dealing with the paparazzi, and the couple was probably preoccupied with each other (if their lack of seatbelts is any indication).

They were the only ones that could answer that question. Why do people still drink and drive, in spite of the thousands that are killed in accidents every year?

I guess they didn't know he'd been drinking. We'll never know these things now...they were not wearing their seat belts either....the whole thing was just a lot of bad decisions which culminated in a tragedy.
