A photo op of course. Photos of him, taken together with vulnerable, easily led US troops. He needs fodder for his "legacy" - and the plethora of books and documentaries that will be written and mulled over by a gullible public. In fact at this point, that is all he is worried about.
Time almost over. Watch carefully. There will be other "surprise" visits. At "surprise" locations. Thus WE shouldn't be

Actually he didn't go to 'Fort Green Zone'. That would have involved flying into Baghdad airport and that's not the safest piece of real estate in Iraq right now. Sometimes I really believe that Bush really believes in what he's doing.....that's even more upsetting than if he was just stooging for his reactionary handlers. My feeling is that this occupation will continue until after the election no matter what, and after that it will continue in a decreasing manner as it falls more and more out of the 'news'. It's barely in the news now as it is....so in a couple of years people will forget it ever happened. All people will know is that the US will be poorer and less powerful than it once was and there will be less public money for essential social and physical infrasturcture.....definition of a 'first world' country will be redefined. The rich will be rich and the poor will be poor, but not piss-poor as in some other countries, but certainly not robustly middle class as before the US public turned its back on progress and embraced the non-sense of the reactionary Bush Junta. That will be the Bush 'legacy'.

You do realize who Bush's Vice President was, don't you? If Bush had been impeached, Dick Cheney would have become President of the United States. No one, not even Cheney's mother wanted that to happen.

It proves that there is a chance of Bush and Rice to run over an IED, which would be their assassination.

What did Iraq do again to the U.S.?

Praise the day a military advanced country such as China, North Korea, or Russia create a lie about the U.S. having weapons of mass destruction followed by bombardment and invasion. Americans would cry just like after Hurricane Katrina and the VT incident. Incidents similar to VT happens daily in Iraq because of the Republican War. How did feel it U.S.?

If Iraq cannot defend itself from Bush's invasion, then you should not be permitted to defend yourself from 9/11. Iran cannot help Shiite muslims in Iraq, however, American hypocrites use other countries' help as coalition.

It proves that at least someone in government can keep a damn secret. And just think, it gave you a chance to whine about him again. 24/7/365 you dream of him, obsessing over nothing as your life slips away. Maybe if you had a girlfriend you would know that life is waiting for you.

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm pretty sure he didn't do it to prove anything to you.

EDIT: I don't know where you're getting your information but either they or you are lying.

"The president secretly flew 12 hours to this dusty air base in a remote part of Anbar province, bypassing Baghdad in a symbolic expression of impatience with political paralysis in the nation's capital. The gesture underscored the U.S. belief that the spark for progress may come at the local level."

My guess is if George Bush Jr picked up an assault rifle, chased down an insurgent and killed him your chatter would be he's a murderer, thug and bully. In other words our commander and chief will never do anything you like so your point doesn't really matter...another blocked liberal commy out of my way.

Bush is at a base in Anbar Province. Maybe you should read the article instead of just the headlines.

The green zone is in Baghdad.
