Considering most people do decide to have children this question perplexes me.

Let's see. I work in an office of 35 people. All of us but two people have no children. The one is 400 lbs and a big slob. The other is a young guy that wears his pants around his kness and cant use an iron.

Honestly I think its the slobs that dont have children cause they can't find anyone to date them and want to have kids with them.

Now, I must think back to the days when my daughter was very small. It is hard to stay organized when you have a baby. They are spitting up on you and your breasts are leaking milk and they make big messes and your tired. So maybe some of those days I didnt look 100% but I would never leave the house looking like a slob either.

May be where you are from ,but the people i know with kids dress and live as clean as any one .Some folks with kids do have less money to spend on clothes and may look to some to be sloppy to you. But it is how they bring up the kids that's important not there looks or appearance
But if the kids aren`t born then that would be the end of the whole mess.

First of all all mom's are not always dressed sloppy. Sometimes between our busy days we may not want to put our hair perfect or wear the perfect clothing if that bothers you than don't look. Alot of us are single mothers raising children by ourselves because the father/ mother don't feel like taking part in the child's life. We do our best to provide for our children and get them taken care of to where we may not be able to go to the store and buy us a new outfit. It's called parenting when you chose to have a child it is not all about you any more but it's about the child/ children that you have. I for example work 12 hr shifts at a jail I deal with idiots all day and when I get home I don't want to get dressed up to go any where I am to tired. I also don't ask for tax payers to provide for my children I pay there medical insurance and more than half the time I do it by myself. So if some days I don't feel like looking like a model guess what I have had a rough day and I don't care what any one else thinks. Till you have children you will never understand. By the way I am a mother of 3 and I woulden't trade none of them for any shopping spree they might be brats at times but there the best thing in my life.

I consider it an act of love. They make sure their kids are taken care of and look okay, are happy and ready to take life by the horns, they take them to the movies and the mall and to get their hair done and all these different things and by that time their priorities have shifted focus. They're no longer worried about how they look, whether or not they are wearing the latest styles and are totally fashionable or anything. They put their kids first and themselves second, as it should be. Of course they still have their own lives, but they've realized superficial things like appearance don't even scratch the surface of importance compared to their kids, their job(their way of supporting their kids), doing the grocery shopping and paying the bills, etc. Sure, they may love fashion, but fashion can never love them back.

Ever hear the term "MILF"? They didn't get that way by having kids and looking sloppy! Or are you going to sit there and honestly say that you've never seen a hot 35 year old mom with the body of a 21 year old pushing a stroller?

a) that is not always the case
b) what's the point of dressing up well if you are only going to get covered in juice and food. Builders etc always look sloppy - they wear overalls because that is SENSIBLE attire. Parenthood is a job and sloppy clothes is often the uniform.
c) because the deep and enduring happiness that parenthood brings means we are not worried about the same superficial things more shallow and unhappy people worry about...............

Well :) When I had my first child almost 16 years ago, I decided that comfort was more important than beauty. 15- 1/2 years and one more child later, that is still my motto. My hair is clean, as are my clothes, but I am into the "natural" look. I have no time nor desire to do my hair or my make-up. I actual feel more free this way. I always hated making myself into something more than I was. Now I am just me... with kids :)

I take it you dont have kids... when you do you will see its not easy to keep your looks up like when single you had all the time do to things . try working, rasing kids, cleaning ,cooking, the line a womens work is never done is no lie. sorry that you see people with kids as sloppy . dont be so shallow on the outside looks of people . cause just makes you look bad all the way around.

Obviously you have no children! Children require a lot of energy and money leaving very little for the parents. But that is the sacrifice that parents are willing to make. I care more for my children's success because I have had my chance at life already.

the ones who are sloppy are the ones who shouldn't have kid's in the 1st place because they can't afford to have them, hell they can't afford to take care of themselves.why do you think there is so much section 8 going on now, it's just another name for welfare
