That's a hard one... all you can do is constantly disengage your mind from all the stuff you hate about them, otherwise the civility would not last for a second you'll be wanting to crack heads lol... and distance yourself as much as humanly possible... idk that is a hard one to deal with.

Are you on about your mother-in-law by any chance lol
I Have to see my mother-in-law most day's & I can't stand her so I just be Civil with her for my hubby's sake
If you like/love someone enough then you will be Civil to the person for them at first it's hard to pretend you like someone then after a while you will get used to it
Been with my hubby for 9 years now So I'm Fab at it lol

Do you work with them? or Worse are they family, an in-law perhaps? In either case i just keep thinking to myself, " I CAN do this! I can get through the time without letting them get to me, they aren't getting the satisfaction of upsetting MY day!" If all else fails I count to a hundred!!!!!

Baby...unless you're joined at the hip, there is ALWAYS the option of never seeing them again! Have you tried Valium (...in their iced tea?)

I try subtle sarcasm.....it usually goes right over their heads and then I try to make as quick an exit as humanly possible. Yes, subtle sarcasm is a woman's best tool.

Bite your tongue, smile & nod when you're around them, but when you go home, ask a loved one if you can vent on them about the situation. That's what I do & it seems to work pretty well for me.

There was a saying... something with Ignorance... Ignorance is a blast. I mean a bliss. Or was it bless? Bleach?
You got the idea. Just hope it's not too often you have to apply this.

If I find someone .... challenging, I retreat into my calm place and stay as non-committal as I can with them.
