Ronald Reagan once quipped, "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so.”
I think Reagan hit upon something very prescient! Liberals seem to have a very, very tenuous grasp of things. Therefore, they figuratively dig their claws in and fight tooth and nail against anything that doesn't fit their viewpoint of the world.
Conservatives absolutely baffle and exasperate Liberals. Why? Because Conservatives appear to have solid beliefs while the Liberal is lucky if he can formulate some vague, hazy philosphy to help himself understand our big, perplexing world. When the Conservative argues with the Liberal, the Liberal feels he must lash out for fear of discovering that his whole imaginary world is just that: fiction.
It drives a Liberal crazy to see how clear everything is for the Conservative. Nothing is so simple in the Liberal mind. For example, while no Liberal president could ever have even imagined getting rid of the Evil Empire, Reagan very simply decided to bankrupt them, and that would be that. End of story. Simplicity eludes the Liberal.
So, Liberals preach "tolerant", but only tolerance for THEIR viewpoints. Anything else is heresy. Just try confronting a Liberal with the facts about global warming and he'll practically start foaming at the mouth. The mind of the Liberal cannot acknowledge that a Conservative is right because the fuzzy Liberal mind is like a shaky house of cards. If the Liberal realizes he's wrong about one thing, it totally destroys their whole imagined reality he has constructed for himself. It's like schizophrenia, a state characterized by the coexistence of contradictory or incompatible elements.
The Liberal mind is like those old sci fi movies where the computer is given contradictory information, and has a melt down trying to make sense of it. That's the Liberal mind. It would figuratively have a melt down if it had to acknowledge what Reagan observed, that so much of what they "know" just ain't so !
I remember watching The O'Reilly Factor a couple years ago. In a public library in Florida, they had a number of holiday displays: a nativity scene for Christmas, another display for Channukah, another for Ramadan, and even one for the perpetually wacky Kwanza. One..... one Muslim complained that it was "offensive" to see a (gasp!) Christian display, and demanded it be removed immediately. The cowardly Liberal employees obeyed like sheep, never considering that the rest of the displays were also religious in nature. In the Liberal mind, anything relating to Christianity must represent the dominant culture, and hence the oppressor. Therefore, only the Christian display could be construed as offensive. All the others simply contributed to "diversity".
See how absolutely crazy the Liberal mind is? Now, I'm not going to parrot Michael Savage who said that Liberalism is a mental disorder, but...

Christians are merging their faith with politics....Many Christians are just as self-serving as anyone else. For a person to say that only their views should be allowed is the 1st action in any genocide. Liberals are not saying this...this is coming from the Right. I am a fairly liberal person...I accept others as they are and have no interest in changing anyone...I can not hope to do anything but protect my own person, family and property by continuing to go to work and acting a good citizen. It does me no service to rail against anyone unless they are a bigot and intend to do those around me harm in some way. I do not believe that there is a majority of people in America that wish to exchange secular law for Christian law. This is an attempt by a minority to bully the nation into adopting laws that dictate to others their personal lives and remove liberty

Why are you lectureing on how liberals hate christmas, when Christ was(is?) the ultimate liberal? I understand your need for balance, but to infer that social indifference is 'all liberal' is in contradiction to your very post. It' appears that you may be approaching 'intolerant'.
"Put down 'everything' related to whites?
"Make Christians sound like extremists"?
You'd have to provide some examples.
Heres a sneeked peek at some discussion online. Some really weird stuff out there..

You're making a gross generalization and a stereotype. And you know it. I hope.
Christians, eh? Yeah, let's talk about that.
I'm a Christian. Raised Lutheran for what it's worth to ya. I worked with church youth and even wrote contemporary liturgies. I was asked to serve as head of evangelism.
I'm also a performing musician, writer, wilderness canoeist and general hedonist. Married 37 years.
That said, the only "Christians" I criticize are those ultra-conservative fundies who imagine that Jesus gave them a blank check to just be obnoxious and get up in peoples' faces and personal space...all under the guise of "witnessing."
There is a distinct line between "witnessing" and harassment, and the courts have had to explain this to certain pin-headed fundies who think its their mission in life to rant in others' faces.
Spirituality and beliefs are fine. We just don't need the "hard sell."
This country is supposed to embrace ALL religions equally. Protestantism does not get an automatic place at the front of the line...

Life would not be so much of a riddle to you if you didn't paint "liberals" with the same broad brush.
The Christians you know may not aggressively proselytize, but there is a minority which does. The liberals who do all the intolerant things you say, are also a minority.
Extremists exist on both sides.

>They rail against Christians.
Okay, you went wrong right off the bat here. As anyone with any understanding of the matter knows, most liberals in western countries ARE christians themselves. They just happen to be christians with different (and usually less radical) views than the conservatives.

Oi.....
Read what you wrote. Now, use some common sense.
You mention the difference between a real Christian and the perception of them. It works the same way with liberals. There are the ones talking about how liberal they are but really just using it to control others, then there are true liberals who support freedom for everyone. If you cant tell the difference, why do you expect them to differentiate between real and fake Christians?

Liberals have tolerance and patience for everybody who believes in the them and jumps on their bandwagon. Simple as that. If you don't, then you're a Bush supporting, Kool Aid drinking, right wing, fascist, neocon Nazi. Don't believe me? Say something that shows 1% support for Bush and you'll see what I'm talking about.

It's simply pandering. Acting holier than thou can win votes. Dems almost always try to win by pointing to the inadequacies of others, but never seem to have much in the way of accomplishments themselves. Look at Hillary, Obama, and Edwards. There's not one thing that would make them qualified to be president, but they hope to get elected anyway by sneering at the other party. They disturb me.

What have the liberals lectured to you to be tolerant about? Some liberals are christian. Some Christians are extremists, usually the conservative ones....it's based on what is going on in todays' politically charged environment. Correct, Christ wanted people to come to him of their own volition. Bush is the one forcing our culture on the Iraqis. God also said, "thou shalt not kill" "thou shalt not bear false witness" two Order's the christian conservatives do constantly! Also, your argument assumes you know "real Christians"....those are few and far between.
