I want to work in travel e.g travel agent but they are not many travel apprenticeships where i live. So i was thinking of doing one in retail would this help me get in to travel though???????

If it was a short course it may help but I would not use up months or years of your time on it if you really want to be a travel agent.

Have you tried your local college? The one by us does a course on travel. I think it lasted around 1-2 years and during that time you would have to do a lot of travelling.

A former colleague of mine has done a correspondence course for travel agent assistant,
We live in a different country, and that kind of course may not be available where you live, but talk with several travel agents in your area to see what is.

If you want to travel more than work at an agency, talk with people traveling for their work.
And try to read the blogs and journals of people who work in travel. There must be loads on the WWW.
