I want to check my answers... can someone please help me.

-k(squared) -(3k-5n) + 4n

k=-1 and n= -2

Question could be read, due to lack of brackets, as:-

Question a)
(- k ) ² - ( 3k - 5n ) + 4 n

OR

Question b)
- ( k ² ) - ( 3k - 5n ) + 4 n

Question a)
= 1 - (- 3 + 10) - 8
= 1 - 7 - 8
= - 14

Question b)
- (1) - (7) - 8
- 16

note that -1(squared) is +1, but there's a minus sign in front of it:

-(1)-(-3+10)-8 = -1-7-8 = -16.

-(-1^2) - (3*-1 - 5*-2) +4*-2
-(1) - ( -3 - -10) -8
-1 - 7 - 8 = -16
