need to make a childeren's book for ages 8-12 as an assignment for my English class, but I have NO idea what to write on. So any great story ideas for a children's book?

Why not start with kings and queens who give their only child to a poor man for the child to experience to be a commoner. Then you twist the events. The ending must be: The King and Queen have their Prince/Princess back to the kingdom, living happily ever after!
