I've been on Metformin 500mg twice a day, for 2 months now - haven't gotten a cycle yet - I just started provera yesterday to get a period, and when I do get my period I am going to get an HSG done, where they inject dye into your fallopian tube to see if there's any blockage [I also have Endometriosis] - my left tube is destroyed due to the Endometriosis, so my right tube and right ovary are doing all the work. However that procedure goes, determines my next step, but assuming my tube isn't blocked, I'll be put on a higher dosage of Metformin, and possibly start Clomid. A friend of mine also has PCOS and took Metformin 1500mg for 3 months and started getting her cycles regular, she is not ttc so I wouldn't know if she is able to get pregnant. Everyone is different, it may take a few months to get your body in sync with itself to ovulate and get your cycle regularly. I wish you luck! keep us updated.

I've been on the metformin for a year and clomid for 5 cycles to help.My levels each progesterone test came back stating I was ovulating but nothing was not happening. I opted to get myself internally checked as I had a feeling my tubes was blocked. I finally had a HSG in July which showed me both tubes was blocked,so I chose to have surgery to open my tubes. I was only successful with having 1 tube open. Now,I am optimistic in obtaining a pregnancy in the next 5-6 months by taking metformin and the clomid.
Each woman is different. I would choose to get your insides check to make sure you do not have any abnormalities such as blockages, fibroid, tumors.
You may not automatically conceive right away from taking the medicine as your body is regulating yourself out.Provera is a chemical D&C which if you did not had a period, you will flow very heavily for the next 10 days.it is just to break the uterine liner. Keep yourself healthy, exercise, drink plenty of water and follow doctors advice. My doctor stated you should be taking the medicine for 6 cycles as it makes your ovaries into overdrive. After the 6 cycle and no success of conceiving, try something else.
Hope all of this helps

I am in the same condition as u are. I am also ttc. This is my second month with the medicines. My dr asked me to try for 3 cycles. If i dont succeed then she will do further tests.

I know how it feels, trust me lots of patience and faith are required. All the best to u and me. Hope we share some good news soon.
