Accept reality. Your spoon maybe be plated. Your spoon may be stainless steel. Your spoon may even be plastic. It is a spoon regardless.
Keep in mind, that whenever we envy the one with the silver spoon, there is also someone who is envying us.
Some woke up today with no spoon. Some woke up and will die today because there is nothing to put on their spoon.
Envy includes the process of feeling sorry for ourselves. How hard my life is and how great their's is. Poor me.

It means your werent born into a life of privelege and that you were forced to work hard, work smart and overcome adversity to acheive a comfortable life. But then it all depends what color the spoon is...
If its rusted, you are probably Amish and growing up on old-fashioned ideals.
If its black, you are probably the lowest on the totum pole and are doomed for failure.
If its red, than you were probably born into a life of anger and you might be born out of wedlock.
If its green, you were probably born into a life of new-age thinking and discovery.
If its purple... well, I have a couple ideas for that one.
If its yellow, you were more into a life of possitivity and appreciation. Nothing can bring you down. Perhaps orange is the same
If its blue, you had to overcome great sadness in the very beginning of your life- maybe your mother died during childbirth or you were left on a doorstep or you were born with severe birth defects...
You get the picture!

ok before i answer the question let me give you a background of the term.
during the middle ages, monarchs and nobles use SILVER utensils to eat. Peasants, on the other hand, use their hands or some other metals, Hence the term "Born with a silver spoon on your mouth" means you came from a well to do family.
The reverse of that would be that you were born from the poor or from the middle class families.
hope ive helped!

Pete Townsend, of The Who, once wrote the lyric "I was born with a plastic spoon in my mouth". He was implying that he was a common man. He was protesting the pretentiousness of contemporary society. The song, Substitute, was also performed by the Sex Pistols.

It would mean you aren't spoiled and given everything you want. It means that you actually work for a living and appreciate what you have and deserve everything you earn.
