Beware of scams. You want to start something that is free to start.
I started a home based business with a new international company that is 100% free and totally different. It's legitimate and not like anything else around. There is nothing to sell, no meetings, and all the tools are free. It's an honest company with good morals and we are trying to help everyone who wants to work at home and make some extra money. Again it's free so you have nothing to lose.
It is possible to work for an honest company, at home with no cost. No matter what people may say. Let me know if you want more info.

There is money to be made in affiliate marketing, but to be successful you need to build a large list of loyal customers which will take time.
Also, there are soooo many affiliate products to choose from that you need to promote ( which eats into your profit margin)
So, what I suggest is the following...
I know that there will be plenty of posts from people who got burned from home based business scams and many will be reluctant to go to a website to check it out.
But, if you're asking the question, here is the answer....
There ARE legitimate home based business opportunities out there !
If you are interested in Network marketing, you may want to check out a legitimate home based business that focuses on building a business based on books, self-improvement, and a culture of charity.
The founders are Robert Allen (Multiple Streams of Income) and Richard Paul Evans (The 5 Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me)
It doesn't get more legit than that.
This is not a get rich quick scheme by any means.
There is extensive company and team training, so you will learn how to build this business the right way.
It is a dynamic, rapidly growing company. But, it is network marketing and you have to build the business. But, it is a great product, great people and fun.
Make sure to exercise due diligence when you are researching any home based business opportunity.

Although there are plenty of affiliate marketers (also known as multilevel marketing or network marketing) who have jumped on the band wagon to promote their business, in addressing an opportunity question as this one does, few, if any, actually answered the question.
The truth about affiliate marketing companies is that you have to go into people's homes to (1) show them a business model, and (2) to train them in marketing the business. There are a handful of true home-based-businesses that can actually be done at home, where all business materials are online and you can actually work at the computer to generate sales or associate business partners.
The Federal Trade Commission is responsible for upholding federal regulations and each state has their own regulatory bodies that regulate corporations within their state. Feel free to visit the FTC and view the warnings they offer about multilevel marketing companies. Caveat emptor - latin term. It means Let the Buyer Beware.

Yes, I KNOW there is. I have done this & I really think that it is the new wave of the future! I mean, what better way to make money (& easy money at that!) than telling someone about a product that you use, right!? :-D

I think it would be harder to do, but just FYI, even ebay went to an affiliate program for people signing up for ebay. That is on commission junction, too.

NO MATTER WHAT people tell you, no matter what program or company people tell you about... BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT EXPECT INSTANT RESULTS. Too many people will tell you that there is money to be made, but don't think for one second that it will be instant. You'll have to work for it, and you'll have to wait for the results. Or you'll start out very small, maybe earning a few cents a day if you're lucky (like with google adsense, for instance) and work your way up.
