LSU lost to Florida but still won the national championship. However, Appalachian State is not Florida. I think we can safely acknowledge that their title hopes have diminished.

Plain and simple, YES. There is always 3 or 4 teams at the end of the season with one loss and one or sometimes two teams undeafeated. Any of those teams will be picked over Michigan. The BCS commitee cannot be embarassed to have a team that lost to a Division 2 team in their championship game. Even if a team came into the mix with 2 losses at the end of the season I think they would get picked over michigan. I'm sorry Michigan fans but the season is completely over for you guys

Get actual. Oregon St. beating Oregon? LOL! Upsets can take place yet no hazard right here. LOL! so some distance as Boise St. triumphing the NC. LMAO! those trick performs could artwork against a poorly coached Oklahoma or WAC turkey the place gamers overplay via playing the ball and not staying living house yet that crap won't artwork against a Saban coached team. Put yourself in the shoes of a sportswriter who is voting for the top 25 every week. Even if Michigan is 10-1, would you be able to vote for them to be in the top 5 after what you saw this past Saturday? I couldn't. If you cannot beat a 1AA team in your own stadium, you don't deserve a title shot. Unless by some wierd miracle, they finish with just one loss and the rest of the country loses three games...that would be the only scenario I can see helping them out.

In this day and age of College Football, the best they can hope for is winning the Big Ten and going to the Rose Bowl. Losing to a Div 1-FCS (AA) school (even a pretty good one) is not good in the voters eyes. They'll be lucky if they stay in the top 15 this week. One loss is likely not going to cut it this year. The only one loss team (assuming one or more undefeated teams are left) that would make the title game would be USC (whether they deserve it or not).

As others have said; yes. There is no way to rebound from this and become the #2 team. Basically they would not only have to win out, but they would have to do it by 10 TDs each game. Then possibly having victories that decisive might give them a chance.
So basically it can't happen (which is unfortunate if you are a Michigan fan).

Until they break down and decide the Champion in some sort of tournament format, then we can never really know that the best team has truly won. So sadly no, there are still scenarios that leave Michigan the National Champion.

If by rare chance, Michigan slaughters Ohio State and Wisconsin, they could get a shot at the championship

yes its over. Even if every team lost 1 game, Michigan would still not be ranked 1 or 2. Every team would have to lose 2 games which is imposable.
