traveling to amsterdam in sept . does anyone know any good coffee shops over there.?

Also in the coffee shops where cannabis is sold legally do they sell cannabis by the joint? What is a good type of cannabis (name) that i should ask for. nothing to strong, but enough to reach a euphoric state?

Pot/Cannabis and hash are sold legally at the coffee shops in Amsterdam. You can buy by gram bags or by joints. There is even a menu. A 1gr baggy is about EUR 10 and a pre-rolled joint is about EUR 6-7, depending on the pot you choose. Good advice: Kali Mist. Very mellow and not a "hammer on the head" high...

As for good coffee shops, there is a chain called Rokerij. They are all over the city and here's their link: http://www.rokerij.net/ - they've been voted best coffee shop several years in a row. Grasshopper near central station is also good (more expensive) and the Tweede Kamer (tiny tiny tiny) close to the American Book Center on the Spui.

I'd avoid the bulldog at all costs - it's really like the "hard rock cafe" of pot made specifically for tourists. Not the real Amsterdam experience. Have fun!

Can you imagine what Amsterdam would be like without coffee shops, where would the visitors get a cup of coffee while shopping, ( a massive uproar would happen) Brothels, that another matter, I wouldn't use them, only the men would make a fuss about this.

Greenhouse Effect , Warmoesstraat 53. Better-than-average red-light district coffee shop.
Siberië , Brouwersgracht 11. Relaxed, long-standing place that's worth a visit whether you want to smoke or not.

they sell cannabis by the pound....there is a m illion of them there just walk in one. they will give you a huge menu
