i found this band called Cold Play in 1999 with their song "trouble". the first i heard of blink 182 was with their song "M M's" in the mid 90's. woah!

Linkin Park, I got their album Hybrid Theory from a friend (who worked at a music store) before it was commercially released ......I loved it, but radio killed it

I usually tend to find myself finding out too late about all the great things going on! Although I have been watching an American cartoon called Family Guy for ages and I've now heard people saying they really like it so I guess that counts too! Take care,xx.
