should we allow Americans to use the internet?

As an Englishman who is currently in the USA on business i feel i must ask this.
I read recently that the internet will soon be switched off in the USA to prevent Americans from using it
Is it right that we allow Americans to use the internet?
Everybody is aware of Americans and their stupidity, but i believe they deserve the freedom of. speech and we deserve a good laugh now and again.

Americans-PLease just for once give me an amusing repsonse instead of this utter shiteeeee.

Last I checked, about 60 percent of all the Internet traffic in the world went through servers in Northern Virginia.

I like American people, they have a brilliant sense of Humour
I like to hear about the different states and how people live there. I love sex in the city, does anyone remember Rhoda loved it. The Golden Girls and cagney & lacey I loved that because they were real women, you could relate to. I loved david Haselhof when he had that car. Wouldnt have minded a few hours between the sheets with him then(not now hes sad now) Yep I would like to see all these things on Internet again.

Although I'm not an American, nor an Englishman, I, too, think this guy is an idiot. Either that, or he has a crappy sense of humor.

Nevertheless, for all of you thinking that the Internet was invented in the US, think again: Tim Berners Lee, in '89, at the European Nuclear Physics Center. Pentagon's Arpanet project, in the early '60s had nothing to do with the modern Internet and, moreover, came as an American reaction to Russia's satellite launch in '59.

But, to answer the question, yeah they should be allowed to use the Internet. But (as a global request for all countries), each surfer should prove an IQ bigger than 70.

I dont think this is a great idea...I mean, Americans did invent the Internet. Why should they not be allowed to communicate through the net?
The nation who should be cut off the internet is probably China.

I think it's unfair to suggest that the USA have any lesser right to access the internet than anyone else. You just need to look at China and how they're stopped their residents from accessing sites like wikipedia, it's wrong!
