I live where it's hot and I have the lowest bills I have ever had. I checked with all the different electric companies for the best deal and then Reliant sent me this offer for a very low rate. When I called, they refused to honor it so it was bait and switch so I mailed it in to them so they could not not honor their offer. So I have the lowest rate in years. Then I've caulked, shaded, insulated, added fans, clean my filters, etc. etc. and I am really using much less electricity and at a lower rate that in past years and this is a hotter year. It's worth it. Still high but much better than past years. Last month's bill was about $70 lower than the year before. . .

Last month 18 days of 100º +.
Replaced windows, insulated attic, have turbines, keep A/C at 78º and use ceiling fans. Don't go in and out all the time. 1900 sq ft, averaged billing at $56. Last month used $110.
I'm happy.

Mine was $250 this current billing cycle.

I have a 1200 sf house that is aluminum sided and elevated 1.5ft off the ground.

I also have natural gas appliances (stove, water heater), and that was $25.
