I just don't know how I'm supposed to find clubs and meetings anywhere.

I've been recommended to participate in activities I enjoy- but how am I supposed to see what's available?

If your town has a youth hall, community center or good library you can ask there, they should know what is available or how to contact the people who do, or:
Google on the name of your town or county and activities, hobbies, meetings, and so on, and you will get a lot of hits.
Then you will need to select the ones that are good for you.

If that is not what you want, walk in at your local scouting head quarters, sea cadet training ship or after school activity center.
If you are to old to join as one of the kids, they almost always need volunteers.
