to smash and break the grass in all directions with a hover mower or to cut neatly and to precisely the height you want, with a Green's 1200A easy push lawn mover (Basket inc)?

If the blade on the hover mower is sharp enough it won't smash and break the grass as you have put it but i must admit that your Greens mower will do a better job (so long as the blade is sharp enough and of course it is a cylinder blade). Grass should be cut in alternate directions each time it is cut so a cylinder mower will always do a better job.

Hover mowers are not very reliable and are slowly losing popularity so I would get a Greens 12ooA easy push lawn mower.

It's better for the grass to mow it one direction one time and the next time to mow it in the opposite direction. I like mine done on a diagonal criss-crossed pattern, but I still do it the other direction every other mow and it looks gorgeous! I keep track of it by leaving a post-it note on the mower.

yo dude, i find using the hover first to give a cood cut and then use the push mower to give those nice neat lines more work but worth it.

I would think that the smash and break method would be hard on the lawn.
