You can be left alone in a house with out supervision at 12, although if it is for a period over 24 hours it is required the person must be over 16.

16 you may own a house, but you are not entitled to a mortgage until 18. You'll even find it hard to find private rented accommodation as you can not be prosecuted for debts until you are 18 so if you don't pay rent the landlord can do nothing about it.

If you are in Foster care you would also be removed from care.

to be for sure i would ask someone there with authority to tell you for sure. and still it would depend on maturity. early teens i would think but you should test this in very short spells.and always with someone close by they can go to in case of an emergency. you wouldn't ever want to leave them for longer than a couple hours. recently my husband was in the hospital and i had to be at the emergency with him all night. i have 3 children they had stayed at home on and off for a few hours before this and were not afraid. of course i wouldn't dare think of doing it except i have my family that lives right next doors to me. and my oldest is 18 and the others are 14 and 15. also we have close neighbor friends on the other side of our home, and each one of our children have their own cell phone as well as their dad and i. so we were able to keep in close contact at all times. to many thingscan happen and a person never knows. justmake sure you take every precautionary step possible. good luck and best wishes.

It really depends. Children should not be left alone for any length of time alone! Too many bad things can happen, and often do!

If a kid was 12 and I found them and they had been alone for a considerable amount of time, they would be in the custody of the state, not the parent!
