Well...I draw the line when there are more then 1 or 2 spelling errors. Not because I am the best speller in the world and not because I am high and mighty and not even because I am 'crotchety' but because there is an option above the text box in big blue letters that says 'check spelling'!
People should have pride in the things that they wright. There is nothing wrong with caring about your spelling...but I don't think anyone, including me, should crap on someone for having an error or two.

Life is rather short to worry about spelling mistakes but I, like so many other like-minded people here, think it is just pure laziness sometimes. People just can't be bothered to use the correct grammar or spelling. They are in such a rush to get on to the next thing. Doesn't mean they're stupid though, or even under-educated, just lazy and/or in a rush (is that a contradiction?!!)

If people are mis-spelling in text like talk or abbreviations thats ok. It doesnt bother me that people cant spell - i just hope none of them turn out to be my doctor who gives me the wrong medication cos he misspelled it, or my conveyancer who makes an expensive mistake cos they put a comma in the wrong place. In my job I help people who cant read and write sufficiently to fill in forms to get benefits, open bank accounts and so on. Thats why it matters - cos its an essential skill if you want to live an independant life.

I wont DO anything..I like to think its still important to be able to spell and write correctly. I am not perfect and i sometimes use the spell check. Manners cost nothing and I think it makes you a better person. I would much rather employ someone who made the effort to spell and write well, than someone who had your attitude!

because if you don't have the intelligence to spell correctly or use correct grammar how dumb must you be, we actually allow people like that to make important decisions such as voting ! it is also very lazy not to press the spellcheck button before submitting your answer.
i aint gonna do nothin, but i wouldnt employ ya !

There is no need to use chav mobile phone language on here because there is plenty of room to write in and it just makes you look like you drive a Saxo and mug people at knifepoint

It is hard sometimes to understand you point or your questions with bad misspellings. Why not just use spell check?

There is a 'check spelling' button when you write questions and answers. Is yours missing?
