(a / b) ÷ (c / d) = (a / b) x (d / c) = a d / b c

Example
3 / 2 ÷ 2 / 5
= (3 / 2) x (5 / 2)
= 15 / 4
= 3 ¾

Fractions are usually in a form of an integer over another integer. (eg. 5/2, 4/7 etc).
When a fraction divides another fraction. Take the 1st fraction(Don't change it) and multiply it by a reciprocal of the 2nd fraction.
Reciprocal meaning the fraction is flipped over (eg. 5/2 becomes 2/5, 4/7 becomes 7/4)
Example eqn: 3/4 / 2/3 = 3/4 X 3/2 = 9/8 =)
Hope this helps

when you get two fractions :1 2/6 / 1 4/8=8/6 / 12/8
=8/6 * 8/12
=2/4 * 4/3
=8/12=2/3
make the fraction an improper fraction then change the division sign to a multiplication side after taking the reciprocal of the fraction in the right hand side.THen simplify the fraction and multiply. If you can simplify it further simplify to its simplest form.

To sum up the previous post, "Keep, Change, Flip."

KEEP the first fraction, CHANGE the division sign to a multiplication sign, and FLIP the second fraction. I've been using that since 5th grade.

Personally, this is the simplest method.

Lets say you're dividing a/b by c/d.

Step 1. "Flip" any one of the fraction over. (eg. a/b "flips" to b/a)

Step 2. Multiply them together and done!

So the answer would be b/a * c/d which will give you bc/ad.

In mathematics, try to make things simpler! Cheers!

FRACTION1 divided by FRACTION2 =
FRACTION1 times FLIP OVER FRACTION2
then multiply numerators to get your new numerator
and multiply denominators to get your new denominator.

EXAMPLE

5/7 divided by 6/10=
5/7 * 10/6=
50/42

reduce to get:
25/21 = 1 4/21
