dc - Yes, I am Scottish in fact. They weren't my FAVOURITE band, I just liked them a lot, until they came to Edinburgh the other week and I went to see them live. They were so amazing, I couldn't even put a finger on what it was about the gig that was so good, I just loved it tho. Thanks for getting back to me !!

My favorites are (I have four, and I have liked these choices for more than a decade):
The Red Hot Chili Peppers---I love their rock-funk-soul sound. They're fun, they're good, and they're just really talented. They are part of the soundtrack to my life, lol :) When I am feeling blue, they make me feel better.
Tori Amos---She is an amazing vocalist and I can identify with her music on a deep level--it moves me. Her lyrics and sound are unique and often, odd. Her piano playing puts all the others to shame. Just love her.
Beck---He is SO underrated. He's a musical genius that writes all his own music, lyrically and instrumentally. He plays almost every instrument, too. His songs are funky, weird, and they defy genre---he is rock, alternative, country, disco, metal, funk, etc.
Fleetwood Mac---Classic soft rock with a bit of a magical medieval sound. It's great music to relax to, and Stevie Nicks has always had one of the best voices in music.
Part 2: Yes, I enjoy the Foo Fighters. I have liked Dave Grohl ever since he was in Nirvana. He's a talented guy, and seems to be a nice guy as well. Great musician. My favorite song would have to be "Everlong".

1) Either Xanadu or 2112 by Rush 2) Power Windows by Rush 3) No. Xanadu was from '77's A Farewell to Kings, and 2112 was from...well, 2112. 4) Yes. 5) Love talking about Rush. I can't say it's my "favorite" thing to talk about, but it's up there. 6) No. Honestly, I don't visit band sites all that often. 7) Rush can be played at any time, in any situation, 24/7 365. I honestly have no preference. 8) That's hard, since there's only 3. I guess guitarist Alex Lifeson, but just b/c I'm a bassist. He's still great. 9) Tough one, since there's a lot, but I guess it would be The Necromance from 1975's Caress of Steel. 10) Well, just said it. Caress of Steel. 11) Drive or work out. 12) Lateralus by Tool. 13) Animals by Pink Floyd (1977) 14) Animals is actually my favorite overall album, even over Rush, but Rush has more great albums than Pink to me. 15) Gyros 16) Red Ale beer (I drink mainly water) 17) Green 18) Mongoose 19) It does, but also carries negative reprocussions and the possibility to trigger PTSD.

Part 1: Iron Maiden; the songs paint a very detailed picture and the music really ties in with the image (eg "The Trooper" is about the charge of the light brigade, and even without the lyrics you can imagine horses galloping into battle as the speed of the tune dictates). There are some vey patriotic songs (like "These Colours Don't Run", referring to the flag) and they've been going strong for about 3 decades! From the mystery of Ancient Egypt, to the distant future, they've sung about the lot!
Part 2: I like the Foo Fighters and I've got a couple of their albums, but they aren't my favourite band.

My favorite band is The Fratellis.
And I haven't really heard much of the Foo Fighters to be honest.

Part 1 - Anberlin (love the music, lyrics and videos that they make are really meaningful
Part 2 - havent listened to Foo Fighters so no idea on that one.

Foo Fighters are my fave, I saw them in Hyde Park last year and I was totally blown away by them and I can't wait to see them in London in November x

Its really hard to say who my favorite is. I like a lot equally. Right now I'm digging Oasis...not because they are my 'favorite', I just like them a lot...as I do many others.
I didn't mind Foo Fighters when they first came out about 11 or 12 years ago.

THIRD DAY. Love the music and the message. The Pixies - there's just no one else like them.
Foo Fighters are not in my iTunes, but I don't change the station if they're on the radio.

Part 1: Pidgeon Detectives - fantastic lyrics, funny with it, they are brillaint live and have a great stage presence, all in all a brillaint band!!
Part 2: yes and no......they are ok and i like some of their stuff but alot of their material is a bit samey so not really a fan!!
