Omg i just seen the new Halloween and i was wondering if it took place like today or back in the 78 or w/e the first took place? I mean Lynda used a cell phone and they were saying "Dude" and idk it just looked more modern.

It wasn't a remake. Maybe it was updated for today's audience, but this one didn't mimic the original. This one explored Michael Myers as a child and showed the things that made him the psycho he became.
Ask yourself, would you be interested in a movie like Halloween if it were made like it was in 1978.

Ya, it took place more recently. I think when it was showing him younger, it was like in 78 or so. So, fifteen years after would place the movie right around 93. The movie still looked a little too modern for 93.

Yeah, I think it was basically a remake of the old
school Halloween, btw which is a freaking Classic!!
Nothing is more scary than that movie.
