does literature try to make us athiests?

religion - is it corrupting us? that death is a pain beyond imagination , and no one would suffer a greater pain in this world is a notion that , perhaps, i should say , is encouraged by religious peoples of the day. i myself am not an athiest , but truth , though inconvertible,seems to be a remedy. so i want a remedy!

Don't believe everything you read.

In fact, don't believe anything. Belief after all is just attachment to an idea.

What is truth anyway. Your truth is different to mine. Truth is usually just a validating principle for a belief and a belief is only attachment to an idea.

If literature can turn people in to saints or criminals,it can also make them atheists,or whatever.If you are seeking remedy from death (pain) then you are looking for an escape from the laws of nature and that's just not possible.Like a birth,living a life,death is in the sequence in that cycle.The only way is to accept death as an integral part of life and then there shall not be any fear or pain associated with it.

Depends upon the literature, many are uplifting full of hope and spiritual in nature.
Unless you like wallowing in hopelessness or cult fads or constant skepticism which is pretty much what atheism entails. Since we are spiritual people but become atheistic though peer pressure, or just don't think we have that trait in us, we will replace it with some earthly thing that isn't everlasting.
