I am intelligent.

Intelligence comes in many forms. One of the smartest book-smart people I've ever met, couldn't drive a car. He was incapable of keeping his thoughts focused long enough to NOT end up in the ditch or wrapped around a tree.

I've known other "intelligent" people who make a total shamble out of their personal life or their finances.

Sometimes "common sense" is more important than "intelligence". Both, are even better.

As a child I was placed in advanced programs for "gifted" children after numerous tests. I wondered, what is my gift? I can't remember my exact IQ (my memory is not the sharpest, I don't think) but it was somewhere in the 150's. I wonder if that older system of IQ testing is still used...hmm, not sure. Anyway, can a test truly judge a person's intelligence quotient in the first place?

Currently, I hold a 4.2 in college while working full time. I don't know if this makes me intelligent, but some of my online blogging friends keep calling me genius. This makes me slightly embarrassed.

How is one supposed to know if they are intelligent? I read books constantly, write and study for fun (I am in school after all). If intelligence is measured by what knowledge we possess, then surely, by logical deductions, intelligence is impossible to determine simply because we can never know what all there is to know.

I enjoy reading Socrates' works and agree with his premise on the idea of intelligence as it relates to knowledge - "one can only really know nothing."

Intelligence, therefore, isn't measured by what you know, but rather, by what you do not know.

Do I think I am intelligent? With this thought, then, yes - I would say I possess intelligence enough to get me through life.

Every human is intelligent.By asking questions we learn
new things every day. Some people have the ability to
store a lot of information, but would you say that they are more intelligent than say ie.a street wise kid ? who knows how to
defend-get things he needs or know when to disappear
Or a professor who knows all about science or how things work like atom bombs. But would he be able to survive if the
roles were reversed.i don't think so.
So Katy you are intelligent because you learn things to
survive and that is all we need to learn.
c yah..

I don't think I am intelligent, I know it. But this website/chatroom/whatever is for anyone and everyone. Check out how many dumb questions there are. I fully expect someone to ask "Does anyone know where I left my car keys?"
