i'm not able to understand it fully but here's wat i have interpreted:

success is so addictive, so irrestitible that sometimes when it stops coming to us, a tide of strong emotions rises high above in our minds and heart, mixed with sadness, anger, jeolousy..........so strong that we are unable to ebb it, but when this tide of emotions lacks determination..............it results in a shock and sudden situations

while it seems perhaps a few words were left out, i would say that it means when success stops, emotion builds, and if this emotion is determination for more success, it will lead to situations in life that offer opportunities, so while the situations seem sudden, they actually are born from the strong emotion

sounds incomplete. but here's my shot at it.

success sometimes makes one complacent. so when success ceases, it awakens one's senses and stirs up emotions in the person. sort of like mentally preparing that person to speed up again in the race of life. when life's circumstances changes, it then spurs one on to try and take control again no matter what.
