I believe she assumes it because of where the money is coming from and the fact that her husband held office. The truth is, she is tearing the Democratic party to shreds. You either love her or hate her, and for many, there is no love lost.
She's trying to take advantage of a weakened Republican party, but I believe it'll end up backfiring on her. People simply don't trust Hillary and as a result, we are sticking together and bracing ourselves for a battle.

The real question is why should the rest of us think she is. We're the ones voting for her or not.
She is the spouse and personal confidante of a very successful ex-president.
She has been a senator and outspoken on children's and women's issues. Women are a majority in the country, last I checked.
She has a tough personality, and would be able to make the tough decision in the national interest.
She would be an advocate for the weak, and the president should be such an advocate.
She is smart. She is a grown up version of Lisa Simpson, and that's a good thing.
The USA needs more experience with female leadership, and it may as well be her, since she has already lived in the White House and knows what it means to function there from her husband's experience.
She is presidential material as much as any of the men running, and her campaign and presidency would be more historic than most of them.

Her last name is Cliton (at least until the inauguration), she is a woman, and she has the gay/lesbian vote. Also, she can raise more money than any other dam-o-crap running. She should be a lock for the nomination. I sincerely hope not though. I'd like to see her and Obama divide the party so much, that the completely unelectable, ambulance chasing, tree hugging, liberal, hippie, creep Edwards sneaks in the back door and steals the nomination. Thus, securing a Republican sweep in 08.

Because she was very publicly the brains behind Mr's presidential campaign, and lets face it, that was the last time the US was doing okay economically and socially. We had issues but werent falling apart or inspiring a rebellion. She wont win, she's a woman. Obama wont win, hes black. That's how America works, unfortunately. If elections worked we wouldn't have them and if anyone listened to anyone past their own personal agenda the general public would have seats in the cabinet. Its not about the best man anymore its the best stock option.

After 8 years of living in the White House and seeing the job done very well - I would say she is a lot more qualified to determine what is presidential material than I am.

Well, she got elected to be a Senator in New York after only living there 2 months, and isn't even a native New Yorker or spent much time there. So why shouldn't she believe she can go for it?
