I watched the video, and honestly, that was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. In defense though, it is highly probable that there were plently of correct answers, but those were filtered out. I really wish someone would approach me and ask me questions like those. Here's a thought problem: If all Americans are really that stupid, then how do American corporations such as Microsoft, Intel, Boeing, Raytheon (I can go on) manage to produce the most advanced technology on earth? Then again, I am an American who is familiar with the work of noted Frenchmen such as Joseph Fourier and Pierre-Simon Laplace (I was hoping you would get a kick out of that considering you are French).

No we are not all like that.

It was biased reporting---something that ALL media, from ALL countries, do on a regular basis. He just didn't show the answerers who got the questions right. He only showed the people who got the answers incorrect, and the more stupid those people were, the better for his report.

Just to be extra clear, a few of the questions I remember....

1. A country that starts with "u".
United States
Uruguay
United Kingdom
Uganda

2. Which country should we (the U.S.) invade next?

First of all what a shoddy, loaded question. The answer of course is NO ONE.

3. Who won the Vietnam war?

No one; it was fiasco that everyone paid for, for a long time.

And just TRY showing me a map and asking me to mark off countries...I will guarantee you I won't mark Australia as Iran. I'm a whiz at geography.

Again---don't ever buy into the stereotypes. There are plenty of highly intelligent Americans. The problem we have currently is our own government and media. They seem to be in favor of cutting school funding and reporting Britney Spear's new bikini as "breaking news". And because of our government's extremely poor foreign relations and almost non-existent diplomacy, our citizens pay of the price of being hated by the world. Result? You get biased news reports like that one, that just reinforce and perpetuate Americans as stupid, therefore dehumanizing us---AKA making it easier to hate us.

And there is an answer for you.

Should an entire nation's smarts be viewed by a video you saw on the internet?

If you don't know the answer to that question, don't come to the U.S. In fact, don't go anywhere. You're too stupid to travel.

I'm an American and even I can't believe how stupid those people are! Oh my god. How embarrassing. If the whole of the U.S is truly that ignorant, I'd say we have a lot more than wars and idiotic feuds to worry about. I'm American and all I can say is wow! I know our people are not the sharpest tools in the shed, but wow! I would like to say that I am really shocked by this, but honestly this is only a mild blow to my American ego. Sorry you had to see that. I hope you know this does not speak for all of us. It is true we are lacking in the education department, but hopefully this will change in the near future. I have heard that French people are arrogant and are insufferable no it alls.
