The republicans are spending money hand over fist and are more fiscally irresponsible then most democrats.

They refused to shut the border down stopping every single problem that is associated with this extermely important issue. (Rome fell in part to thier lack of adherence their immigration laws)

And with the corruption and bathroom floor tapping the republicans have not exactly been the shinning example of morality.

So if you are a conservative and still a republican, why in the world would you still associate yourself with that party?

(I took on the liberals in the previous question so here is your chance to rationalize this nonsense)

I am not saying that you are going to become a bleeding heart liberal, but wouldn't it make sense to send a message to these scumbags in D.C. that either they get their act together or we'll start our own party, I mean something besides being a gimme vote.

To paraphrase Joe Lieberman when asked why he stayed a Democrat because the party's values had changed so much..."I was a Democrat first...They are the ones that need to change."

That's kind of the way I look at the Republican party, right now. They are the ones that have strayed from conservatism...they can change back. So I intend to vote the bastards out. That's the kind of message we should be sending.

I wonder that too sometimes. As a registered republican I can vote in primaries. My one vote may not mean much but at least I get a say in which idiot gets to run for president.

As I said I believe most of the candidates to be idiots but they are not openly socialist/fascist. It is the party that still fits closest to my beliefs.
There was a time in the past when there were conservative democrats and I respected that party much more. Today they cut off any member that even shows a hint of conservatism (Lieberman). The republican party has moved pretty far left and there might come a day when I can not remain a member of the republican party but for today I try to vote as many conservatives in as is possible.

To a real Conservative (not a neo-con, whatever that is), the Republicans are misguided, inept liberals and the Democrats are dangerous, incompetent socialists, so we go with the lesser of two evils when there is obviously no other choice in our two-party system. After the Democrats are gone (only matter of time), we'll have a new party to the right of the Republicans.

1) border problem has been a problem for decades!
2) there are also gay democrats
3) war costs $

Does this answer your feeble question? A good Republican is NOT a fair weather Republican!!!!!!!! We also believe in the abilities of the individual to solve their own problems and NOT look for government handouts...because that only demeans the human spirit.

I'm not going to quit being a Republican just because I don't like the current Republican administration. I'm not going to become left of center all of a sudden when I've been right of center all my life.

What I don't understand is how people can just expect everyone to abandon a philosophy because of stuff an individual within that philosophy is screwing up. It just doesn't make logical sense.

super question......... i'm a Conservative who will vote for McCain in November. i think there are various motives to not vote for Obama none of that are the fake accusations of Obama supporters who contend that in basic terms approximately all human beings who does not help Obama is racist. i won't manage to vote for Obama who I planned to be green + unqualified + unpatriotic + deceitful + racist. Admittedly, McCain is greater Liberal than i could like him to be besides the undeniable fact that; McCain isn't green or unqualified or unpatriotic or deceitful or racist. actually, plainly regularly a brilliant many greater help Obama because of the fact they're racists who will never help a white Hillary or McCain whilst they are able to assist a black Obama. the significant's that as a Conservative i'm going to vote for McCain extremely of Obama because of the fact Obama become voted because of the fact the main Liberal Senator in All of Congress via the national magazine. BTW - on the different component of the coin; i does not be vote casting for McCain the two if he were voted because of the fact the 1st , 2d or 0.33 maximum Liberal Senator in All of Congress via the national magazine.
