A NFL team can only have 53 players on it. They start with more and make a couple of cut dates to get down to 53.

Depends on which level you are talking. High school teams have certain amounts, universities have certain amounts and professional teams have certain amounts. On the field, there are 11 offensive players and 11 defensive players at one time.

As for the entire team it can range for 11 to over 100.
