I'm looking for a supplier of the really basic sort: folding card with the grid pasted on top.
I want to use them for a new game idea i have .

I seem to be able to find lots of really nice carved wooden sets etc, but non of those really basic boards i used when i was at school!

Thanks in advance

I would recommend you check out a Dollar Store (e.g. Dollar Tree, Everthing's a $1, and the like). I believe these shops usually have a $1 checkers or chess set available. You could get your 10 boards for $10... plus have a lot of left over pieces.

Alternately, you could get a .jpg of the checked board-layout, print it, and mount it yourself on sheets of cardboard using spray adhesive.

If you live in Britain try going round the Charity Shops. If not, checkout Woolworths, Larger Supermarkets.

Housemartin are the company that make these kind of boards. Try Googling them.

Try Woolworths! I bought my chess/draughts board from them - it cost about £4.

Generally a search on ebay is useful. The roll up ones are very bad on the eyes if you are playing black!
